With plenty of notice there’s no reason why you can’t get involved!  The day aims to bring together all communities to see how much waste we can reduce together, so tell your friends and schedule it in the calendar.

New Zealand celebrated its first ever Nude Food Day with schools, workplaces and families getting involved in an effort to reduce their environmental footprint, while drawing greater attention towards healthy eating.

Nude Food Day hits New Zealand this Wednesday 9 November for the very first time. It’s shaping up to be a great day with an impressive level of involvement from school communities already.  

Workplaces can also register for Nude Food Day and show their support for creating a healthier planet by eliminating unnecessary food packaging. We have some great ideas on how to celebrate at the office and loads of delicious recipes that will go down a treat!

Close to one million Australian’s participated this year! Wow! This is an amazing result and everyone should be extremely proud of their efforts. Australian’s everywhere have been celebrating in true eco style, we’ve heard about breakfast programs, corporate morning teas, workplace BBQ luncheons, group picnics and nude food canteen overhauls just to name a few.

Nude Food Day supports the wonderful initiative Kids Pantry and welcomes them onboard as a proud new partner!

Kids Pantry is Canberra’s only cooking school just for kids! They share the eco friendly, healthy attitude of the Nude Food Movement and love teaching kids, of all ages, the joy of growing and cooking their own food.

Over the weekend Kids Pantry took part in running the Junior Master Chef Zone @ Master Chef Live! The food extravaganza was amazing and Kids Pantry did an outstanding job educating our future chefs about healthy eating for a healthy planet.

Nude Food Day is a great opportunity for schools to lead their community in reducing its environmental footprint. Last year over 200,000 Aussies took part and this year, with over 800 schools already registered it ‘s going to be bigger and better than ever. 

To increase your chances of winning prizes for the whole school, get local individuals from your community to register and allocate their registration to your school! Easy huh? You get extra points if you enter the barcode of your Nude Food Mover product - plus if you buy a Rubbish Free Lunch Box before the event, proceeds will go to Nutrition Australia's healthy kids programs.

The school with the most nude foodies wins!

Don't forget, Australia's Healthiest School Lunch competition closes at midnight 2 October. So get your kids into the kitchen to submit their entries before it's too late.

We have had an amazing response to date from schools, workplaces, families and individuals all registering for National Nude Food Day 2011. 

Currently Victoria is leading the way forward in the Nude Food Movement with over 260 registrations! Great work guys! Watch out though, as it's a tight contest with NSW hot on your heels and Queensland not far behind. 

Come on everyone do your state proud by registering your friends and family to enjoy a rubbish free lunch and reduce their environmental footprint.

Healthy eating advice hotline… a step in the right direction for Aussie kids

National Nude Food Day, is proud to play a part in combatting the growing epidemic of childhood obesity.  The key messages, schools resources and interactive learning that Nude Food Day offers to Australian, and now New Zealand school students, helps to educate our kids and give them the tools and knowledge they need, to make healthy food choices.  They learn how the choices they make, impact both their mental and physical wellbeing.

Nude Food Day welcomes and supports the Victorian Government’s $40m war on childhood obesity, the first tactic being a healthy eating advice hotline for early childhood services and schools. It’s a great step forward with Baillieu’s government examining a fat-fighting ministry of food style program, similar to that of Nude Food Day supporter and celebrity chef Jamie Oliver.  Jamie’s message to Australians to get involved can be viewed at nudefoodday.com.au.

We're back in 2011 with a fantastic new website and some great new initiatives.

This year we're encouraging individuals to pledge their support and register with their school or workplace. The schools and workplaces with the most amount of registrations will be eligible to win fantastic prizes so make sure you get your whole community involved in your Nude Food Day!

We will continue to add resources for schools including lesson plans and activities so you can plan your Nude Food Day in advance.

The search for Australia's Healthiest Lunch will be on - where schools, classes and individual students can upload photos and videos of their healthiest lunch to win prizes like Tefal cooking suites, Smash Gear sporting equipment and more.

New Zealand launches Nude Food Day in 2011

New Zealand schools and workplaces can now officially register for Nude Food Day!

This will be the first day of its kind in New Zealand, where everyone can come together to raise awareness and build a greater understanding of the connection between food choices and good health, and the effects of rubbish on the health of our planet.

We can't wait to see how you guys celebrate, so make sure you register your school or workplace and pledge to work towards a healthy body and a healthy planet!

We're so thrilled to announce that international celebrity chef Jamie Oliver is on board for Nude Food Day!  

He's so excited about it, that he has filmed a video message from his home in England encouraging all Australians to get on board for our health, and the health of our planet. Your support clearly hasn't gone unnoticed and now the whole world will hear about our nation's amazing initiative.  Well-done Australia!

Congratulations Australia, it's incredible how many registrations we are still receiving!  It's clear that we really are serious about making a difference to our health and the health of our planet!  We're set to have well over 1,000 schools and a heap of work places and groups nation-wide celebrating Nude Food Day by packing their lunch healthy and nude... that's over one million people and an incredible achievement for year one!

500,000 students set to pack their food nude!

National Nude Food Day is now only two weeks away and with around 500,000 students from schools in every state packing their food nude on Wednesday 13 October - we are set to make a real difference to our health and the health of our planet!

Some schools are even forming SRC 'Green Teams', armed with the registration pack, to actively organise activities for their National Nude Food Day and beyond. These student teams are really getting behind the nude food message by presenting Rubbish Free Lunch Box 'packing' tips in assembly, creating participation awards and sending information home for parents to register their workplace.  Great work everyone!

Raising funds for Nutrition Australia!

Did you know that your support National Nude Food Day can help raise funds for Nutrition Australia?

Throughout the months of September and October, Nude Food Movers will be donating a portion of its profits from the sales of its Rubbish Free Lunch Box directly to Nutrition Australia's Healthy Schools programs.

With up to 25% of Australian children considered overweight or obese, Nutrition Australia is responsible for finding ways to educate children in schools about nutrition and the importance of making healthy food choices.
